Description
An Assembly of the Principals and Electors of the Parish of St Clément will be held at the Parish Hall on Tuesday 27 August 2019 at 7.00 pm to:
1. Consider the following application for a Licence for the year 2019 in virtue of the Licensing (Jersey) Law, 1974:
2. The Parishioners are asked to take into consideration and if deemed advisable:
to agree, as proposed by Eckart Weber, Parishioner of St Clément, that the Parish of St Clément should declare a climate change emergency and aim to be carbon-neutral by 2025 – 2030.
that the Connétable be requested to draw up a plan to achieve this for presentation to the Parish Assembly as soon as is feasible and no later than December 2019; to include
- taking urgent steps to inform all Parishioners and businesses of St Clément about the severity of the crisis;
- taking urgent steps to mobilise and support all Parishioners and businesses of St Clément in order to create, by 2025 – 2030, “the conditions in which bottom-up initiatives flourish and islanders support each other to change their behaviours and adapt to lower carbon lifestyles”.
- to endorse the proposition of Eckart Weber and to request the Connétable to advise other Connétables, the Parish Deputies and the Senators of the decision of the St Clément Parish Assembly.
