Anson Group Limited announces today that it has sold all of its fund administration business to JTC Group, a multi-jurisdictional, independent provider of private client, corporate and fund services.

Anson Group Limited announces today that it has sold all of its fund administration business to JTC Group, a multi-jurisdictional, independent provider of private client, corporate and fund services.

Four of Anson’s Guernsey staff will be moving to JTC’s Guernsey premises to join their existing 22 strong team; itself recently strengthened by JTC’s acquisition earlier this year of Ardel Fund Services Limited.  In addition JTC Group has also acquired Anson Fund Services (UK) Limited and its eighteen staff based in Solent Business Park, Fareham, Hampshire.

Richard Conder, Chairman of Anson Group Limited said “Whilst we have strived over the past five years to grow our fund administration business there was no doubt in the board’s mind that our biggest handicap was not being able to offer prospective clients a multi-jurisdictional solution.  The JTC Group has that capability and can already deliver solutions in Guernsey, Jersey, Luxembourg, the BVI, The Cayman Islands and, now with this acquisition, also in the United Kingdom.

John Le Prevost, CEO of Anson Group said “I shall really miss the staff and clients moving to JTC but for both of them I am totally convinced it is right that the move happens.  Guernsey’s fund administration providers need to be part of an international offering if they are to compete successfully on the world stage.  We could never achieve that on our own but together with JTC I can see it happening”.

Anson Group will continue to own and operate its Crest compliant share registration business Anson Registrars operating through its offices in Guernsey, the United Kingdom, the Cayman Islands and the BVI.

John Le Prevost, commenting on the future, remarked “Our registration business has always operated in the shadow of our fund administration business yet I have viewed Registrars as being the Group’s jewel in its crown.  Now we have the opportunity to exploit that potential and this we intend to do”.

The staff remaining with Anson Group will work on growing its Registrar services and developing some new complementary services.
