C5 Alliance invited clients and industry leaders to discover its vision for technology strategy at the Future of C5 event on Wednesday 28th March 2018. This event follows the successful acquisition of C5 by BDO in Jersey.

Senior members of C5 and BDO presented on C5’s progression to date and how the businesses will converge into one of the largest professional and managed services companies in the Channel Islands. The audience also heard from RBS International Chief Executive Andrew McLaughlin, who presented from a C5 client perspective.

Rob Leader, Group Managing Director of C5 Alliance, reflected on life at C5 and his highlights from 2017, which included the company’s growth to over 200 employees, continued investment in managed services and regaining its status as an HPE Gold Partner.

Antony Allen, Managing Director of C5 IT Services Jersey, spoke about C5’s ongoing commitment to delivering outstanding client experiences with high-level expertise and quality end-to-end solutions. His presentation included a commendation from Jersey Alzheimer’s Association, who engaged C5 for their managed services requirements.

Andrew McLaughlin, Chief Executive of RBS International, commended the company’s commitment to understanding their business needs, its staff and capabilities. He also referred to the long-standing engagement between the two organisations, which forms a trusted partnership in Jersey and on an increasingly international scale.

Chief Technology Officer of BDO IT Holdings, Scott Nursten, focused on how solving the pressing business issues of today will be the surest way to deliver the future technology of tomorrow. He also outlined key focus areas for C5 in 2018 to be Big Data, Security and the Cloud.

Matthew Corbin, CEO of BDO Jersey, concluded the event by confirming the strategic rationale for bringing the two businesses together; establishing a uniquely integrated professional services offering for clients and new personal development and career opportunities for staff.

Rob Leader, Group Managing Director of C5 Alliance, commented:

“As the leading technology solutions provider in the Channel Islands, our future vision pivots around how technology will enable our clients to deliver their business strategy. Throughout 2017 we have remained committed to our staff and our service delivery to clients, which will only progress now that we have joined the BDO family.”

Matthew Corbin, CEO of BDO Jersey, commented:

The convergence of our two businesses, BDO and C5, will continue apace with a single goal; moving from two businesses to ‘one BDO’, to serve our clients across a broad range of integrated service lines, and to support the advancement of a Channel Island, technology-enabled, high-growth economy.”
