The Boat House hosted their annual Battle of Britain event on Thursday 14th September. There was entertainment and food throughout the day. The highlight was the generosity of the guests who helped to raise over £15,000 for Holidays for Heroes Jersey and the Barbuda Caribbean Relief. Two causes close to the heart of the Boat House Group.
The Boat House have used their annual Air Display event to support Holidays for Heroes Jersey. This year, proceeds were also allocated to the Barbuda Relief appeal, James Lane (Director of the Boat House Group) has a personal connection to the Caribbean Island and wanted to raise money to send directly to those in need.
The guests were treated to a whole host of entertainment throughout. It started with the Optimistic Voices serenading the crowd dressed in 1940s military wear which created an authentic atmosphere for the event. Guests indulged in canapes and bubbles and had the opportunity to try their luck at the roulette tables.
The highlight of the day was the silent auction where guests silently bid on a selection of amazing prizes, which included, Caribbean Holidays, private tennis lessons and massages courtesy of Longueville Manor and a pair of premiership football tickets to see Arsenal and much more. The atmosphere was electric and everyone really got involved to help raise money for the chosen causes.
