The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), the leading international centre of excellence for the practice and profession of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) joins hands with The Resolution Centre, Institute of Law Jersey and Queen Margaret University to launch the 2019 Channel Islands ADR Programme. The launch event will take place on 12th September 2018 at The Royal Yacht in the presence of industry experts and practitioners.

The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), the leading international centre of excellence for the practice and profession of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) joins hands with The Resolution Centre, Institute of Law Jersey and Queen Margaret University to launch the 2019 Channel Islands ADR Programme. The launch event will take place on 12thSeptember 2018 at The Royal Yacht in the presence of industry experts and practitioners. 

The 2019 Programme is intent on equipping leaders and practitioners to avoid, manage and transform conflict. Delivering exceptional outcomes for clients, ADR directly supports the wellbeing of individuals and teams in business and organisations.  The programme has been made possible by CIArb with The Resolution Centre (TRC) delivering and offering it locally with the Institute of Law Jersey and Queen Margaret University. 

Neil Newman, Director of Communications and Membership, CIArb UK, said “Through this unique partnership between CIArb, the Institute of Law Jersey (IOL), Queen Margaret University(QMU) and The Resolution Centre (TRC), the vision is to grow local expertise, create options for diversifying employment and attract international businesses to the island while raising the profile for Jersey as an international centre for alternative dispute resolution.” ADR is suitable for everyone across any age, gender and culture and it is helpful for all kinds of disputes, conflict and actively reduces stress in our lives and enhances wellbeing; personal, professional, business and commercial - no matter how big or small.  

Adding further, James Naish, Director and Partner, The Resolution Centre, said “Experience continues to prove that alternative dispute resolution (ADR) delivered by professionals effectively resolves issues, reduces conflict and protects reputations. We are proud to deliver this exciting programme in partnership with the Institute of Law and Queen Margaret University, which has been made possible by CIArb.” 

The event will culminate with the awarding of an honorary patronage of CIArb to the CIFO (Channel Islands Financial Ombudsman) and the announcement ofJersey’s first international conference for ADR in April 2019.
