Danish Ambassador to visit Jersey

Denmark’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, His Excellency Claus Grube, will visit Jersey on 16 December 2013. During his visit, the Ambassador will meet the Chief Minister, Senator Ian Gorst, and the Assistant Treasury Minister, Deputy Eddie Noel.

Denmark’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, His Excellency Claus Grube, will visit Jersey on 16 December 2013. During his visit, the Ambassador will meet the Chief Minister, Senator Ian Gorst, and the Assistant Treasury Minister, Deputy Eddie Noel.

Subjects under discussion are likely to include Jersey’s engagement with the EU, and international recognition of the Island’s compliance with global standards on financial regulation, tax transparency and information exchange. 

Senator Gorst commented: “I look forward to meeting His Excellency Mr Grube. It will be an important opportunity to strengthen relations between our two governments and to share our views on global and European issues.”

The Ambassador will also meet the Lieutenant Governor, General Sir John McColl, as well as representatives of the Island’s finance industry. In the evening, the Ambassador and his wife, Mrs Susanne Fournais Grube, will be the guests of honour at a dinner hosted by the Bailiff, Sir Michael Birt.
