£15,638 was raised in total for cancer support charity Macmillan Jersey as well as for a young Islander currently undergoing cancer treatment at an annual golf day hosted by technology solutions provider C5 Alliance and professional services firm BDO Group in Jersey (of which C5 Alliance is a part).

The money raised will help Macmillan Jersey offer free emotional support, practical information, and wellbeing services to people in Jersey with any type of cancer and at any stage, along with their families and friends. The funds raised for the young Islander will go towards his ongoing cancer treatment in the UK.

This is C5 Alliance’s seventh time hosting the golf day at the Royal Jersey Golf Club, the proceeds of which have gone to a variety of local charities.
Stephanie Gibaut, Head of Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey said “We were absolutely delighted to have been selected as the charity for the annual C5 Alliance golf day for the second year running. A huge thank you to everyone that took part on the day and contributed to the incredible amount raised. As a local charity, Macmillan Jersey doesn’t receive any funding from the UK or Government of Jersey so to receive such a substantial donation is wonderful and enables us to continue providing the vital cancer support services we do for people affected by cancer in Jersey. We are so grateful, thank you!”

Matthew Corbin, CEO of BDO Group in Jersey, said “We are thrilled to have raised over £15,000 – another record amount for our annual golf day. Macmillan is an extremely worthy cause and supports so many of our Islanders. We are also incredibly happy that we have had a chance to directly help one young Islander during this challenging time. We are grateful for the generosity of all who took part and donated, and our sponsors JJ Fox Trading, Rosscot, and the Royal Jersey Golf Club for helping us to host this event and raise these important funds for Macmillan.”
