Ipes strengthens its senior management team with two key appointments

Leading Private Equity specialist fund services firm Ipes has strengthened its senior management teams in London and Guernsey through the appointment of two new Managing Directors.

Ben Cook has been appointed as Managing Director for Ipes UK and Andrew Whittaker will take up the position of Managing Director for Ipes Guernsey.

Andrew will lead the 100 strong team in Guernsey having previously headed up Ipes UK and its depositary business. He joined Ipes in January 2011 from Capita Financial Group’s Specialist Fund Services (formally Sinclair Henderson) where Andrew was Managing Director. He has extensive experience of onshore/offshore vehicles, open and closed, traditional and alternative funds and has worked in London, Dusseldorf, Paris and the Channel Islands.

Ben has more than 23 years onshore and offshore experience in the financial and insurance services sectors and joins Ipes from Dominion Funds Group, where he was MD of the Asset Management business. He has experience of regulated entities in the UK, Guernsey, Malta and Switzerland through Directorships and has extensive knowledge of the legislation in these jurisdictions. Ben has also been instrumental in creating UCITS and Guernsey PCC structures. His expert knowledge of the AIFMD legislation will guide his leadership of Ipes UK.

Ipes UK opened in 2006 and has grown to a team of more than 25 people, as Managing Director, Ben will be responsible for delivering outsourced service solutions to the UK Private Equity community.

Established in Guernsey in 1998, Ipes now employs more than 150 people across London, Luxembourg, Jersey and Guernsey. During 2013, the firm has so far taken on 22 new mandates, despite challenging market conditions. Ipes Guernsey has also grown to reach the milestone of employing more than 100 people in the island.
