Jersey Post Launches New Currency Card

MEDIA RELEASE: The views expressed in this article are those of the author and not Bailiwick Express, and the text is reproduced exactly as supplied to us

Jersey Post’s existing travel currency card provider has recently announced its decision to withdraw its Prepaid MasterCard services from the currency market by 11th October 2016.

Jersey Post has partnered with eWealthGlobal. Its “credEcardplus” card offers a safer way to travel with money and provides preferential foreign exchange rates in three currencies; Euro, US Dollars and Sterling. It is available to use in ATMs, shops and restaurants in exactly the same way as the previous card. eWealthGlobal, are a specialist provider of international end-to-end online technology solutions for FX, prepaid eCards, reward schemes and payroll processing, based here in Jersey.

All existing customers who currently own a Jersey Post World Travel Currency Card provided through WEX Europe Limited should have already been contacted with details on how to proceed with closing, or deactivating their card.

Jersey Post regrets that because a completely new provider is being used, it is not possible to transfer existing customers automatically to the new card. Therefore, those that wish to apply for a new card, along with any new customers who are interested, should register for one of the new named cards here at: www.jerseypost.com/credecard. Alternatively, customers can register over the counter at Broad Street. Jersey Post will then contact all interested parties ahead of the launch later this month.
