There is just one week left to get your views in to the independent panel reviewing Jersey’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The panel is asking for written submissions, online or by post, which will be treated as private and confidential.

The panel is back in the Island in the first week of May for their final session of in-person meetings. This time they’re meeting with Government Ministers and States members.

The panel has met with a range of islanders: individuals, businesses, trade bodies, charities, and other interest groups for both in-person and virtual meetings. They have also been digesting a large quantity of background material from both government and other sources. During the summer, the panel will be compiling their report before publication in September.

Chairman of the panel, Sir Derek Myers said: “We have already collected a large number of impressions, lived experience and opinion, from all sectors of Jersey’s society, but we would still like to hear from more people. If you want to have your voice heard, share your experiences of what went well or not so well during the pandemic, then please get in touch before May 8th.

Islanders can submit their written evidence online or via post. Visit www.covidreview.je for further information, or write to: Covid Review Panel, PO Box 700, Jersey, JE4 0PE.

All written and verbal submissions will be treated as private and confidential and will be considered by the Panel in accordance with its terms of reference, while adhering to the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018. Submissions by the public will not be published in full.

The aim of the Review is to undertake an objective, impartial and independent analysis of the actions undertaken by the Island of Jersey in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and provide recommendations for the management of any comparable disruptive event. It is NOT focused on individual complaints or service delivery issues, but rather the policies, decisions, and actions taken by the Government of Jersey and its partner organisations.
