Patricia White, managing director of Legis Fund Services, has been recognised as Edinburgh Napier University’s Alumnus of the Year 2013.

Patricia White, managing director of Legis Fund Services, has been recognised as Edinburgh Napier University’s Alumnus of the Year 2013.

The accolade was presented at an awards ceremony hosted by principal and vice-chancellor of the university Professor Andrea Nolan on 21 November 2013.

The annual award serves to distinguish current and former students of the university who have made a difference in their field or community. It aims to acknowledge ‘outstanding achievement’ and celebrate the successes of those who have demonstrated excellence in their personal or professional lives.

Ms White studied at Edinburgh Napier University between 1982 and 1985, gaining a BA in accountancy (with commendation). On graduating she was awarded gold and silver medals for the highest aggregate marks overall and took the Joe Thomas Memorial Quaich for the highest aggregate marks in three subjects: financial accounting, business finance and management accounting.

Professor Nolan said that it was a great pleasure to be able to celebrate and reflect on the achievements of the institution’s most successful students and alumni.

“We are extremely proud, and constantly inspired, by the achievements of our graduates across a wide range of careers. Patricia is a role model for any student who aspires to reach the top in their profession, and is very deserving of this year’s award.”

Now with over 25 years’ experience in the offshore finance industry, Ms White leads a successful team as managing director of Legis Fund Services, whose achievements are frequently recognised in international awards.

She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, the Guernsey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants and the Institute of Directors and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Stuart Platt-Ransom, group managing director of Legis Group, said that the company was hugely proud of her achievement.

“It’s fantastic that Patricia has been personally recognised in this way. She is the driving force behind much of our business’ success and plays a key role in making Legis an award-winning company.”

“This acknowledgement is highly deserved and we take great pride in all of her achievements,” he said.
