Proposed changes to Air Route Licensing

Chamber Council has recently had a very wide ranging and challenging debate about the proposed changes by Treasury & Resources Department to the Air Transport Licensing Policy Statement. The crucial part of our discussions centred around the perceived requirement to amend the current licensing Policy Statement.

Chamber Council has recently had a very wide ranging and challenging debate about the proposed changes by Treasury & Resources Department to the Air Transport Licensing Policy Statement. The crucial part of our discussions centred around the perceived requirement to amend the current licensing Policy Statement. 

After lengthy deliberation we concluded that the clauses in the existing Policy Statement give sufficient grounds for the Air Transport Licensing Board to review applications on their merit, without any changes to existing policy.

Whilst Guernsey Chamber of Commerce considers it vital to maintain crucial links to hubs such as Gatwick, Council is of the opinion that States Deputies should not support T&R’s proposed changes to the Air Route Licensing Policy Statement.
