Mums who are currently staying with a local charity will be getting a special delivery to make their Mother's Day a special one.

First Choice Groceries will be dropping off dozens of bunches of daffodils to Jersey Women's Refuge on Friday along with some hand-written gift tags containing supportive messages.

They have put in an order for almost 400 daffodils from local growers Woodside Farm to ensure all the mums currently under the charity's wings get a bunch.

Commenting on the gesture, director of First Choice Groceries Jake Shaw said, “Jersey Women's Refuge is one of our selected charities, it is an amazing organisation offering a real lifeline to victims of domestic abuse and our team really wanted to do something special for the women staying there this Mother's Day."

Jersey Women's Refuge Is the only independent domestic violence charity In the Island and provides a safe place along with practical and emotional support to women and children suffering from abuse.

Marine Oliveira, Service Manager at Jersey Women’s Refuge said, “We are so very touched by First Choice Groceries gifting flowers to the mothers we support to celebrate Mother's Day. This is a very thoughtful gesture, which will bring many smiles and remind these incredible women how special and amazing they are. JWR is so grateful for the continuous support from First Choice Groceries; we feel privileged to be their chosen charity."

Backed by one of Jersey’s largest and most long standing ecommerce groups, First Choice Groceries launched in late 2020 with the aim of becoming the island’s first choice online grocery store, offering islanders choice, quality and value as never before. It is committed to its partnership with local suppliers, offering high-quality seasonal produce produced locally.
