You’ll find sugar, spice and all things nice and oodles of festive spirit on the menu at L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa this month.
The AA Four Red Star hotel in St Brelade is the place to go at the weekend for a very Christmassy afternoon tea, served in its fabulous new ‘winter wonderland’, complete with snow!
Executive Head Chef Andrew Soddy and his talented team are making a delicious savoury selection of turkey and cranberry sandwiches; chestnuts, cranberry, spinach and stilton tarts along with game pie served with fig chutney and glazed figs.
Meanwhile they’ve come up with some very merry morsels for those with a sweet tooth including mini mince pies served with brandy cream, coconut and chocolate marshmallow snowballs and sticky ginger cake topped with white chocolate and gingerbread.
The festive feast will be made extra special as it is served in the Atlantic Room which has been transformed into a huge Christmas village, made up of 80 hand crafted gingerbread houses as well as a giant gingerbread hotel, modelled to look just like L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa. It even boasts a 2ft high waterfall and three different sized working train sets.
Commenting on the festive fun Shaun McGachan, L’Horizon’s Hotel Manager, said, “Andrew and the kitchen team have outdone themselves this year creating this fantastically festive menu as well as our incredible edible winter wonderland made of gingerbread. It’s a delicious way to kickstart Christmas.”
Festive afternoon tea is available every Saturday and Sunday throughout December priced at £19.50 per person or £28 per person for those who fancy mulled wine or a glass of Champagne.
To book, call 743101 or email lhorizon@handpicked.co.uk. The winter wonderland is open from 22ndto 30thDecember inclusive.
