This year’s event will be the 10th annual Tinathon. It will be held as usual in Wests Centre and will seek donations of tins of food in aid of the Shelter Trust for the homeless in Jersey. All tins donated will be sorted ready for use either to supplement food supplies in the four Shelter residences or for distribution in food parcels for the needy in Jersey.
Businesses, schools and members of the public are asked to bring tins of meat, fish, vegetables, soup or fruit to Wests Centre on 18thMay. If collection of tins is required, the e-mail contact is “tinathonjersey@hotmail.co.uk”.
Tin donation points are also very kindly being provided by Waitrose in their stores at Red Houses, Longueville and Grands Vaux from 10thto 18thMay and by Co-op Grand Marche in their stores in St Peter and St Helier from 7thto 12thMay.
