Tinathon is back for its 13th year! It will be held as usual in West's Centre on Friday 30th September and will seek donations of tins of food in support of the Shelter Trust for the homeless in Jersey.
All tins donated will be sorted ready for use either to supplement food supplies in the Shelter residences or for distribution in food parcels for the needy in Jersey. In 2021 over 8,000 food items were donated.
The customary generous support for this appeal is needed this year more than ever before. The difficult economic situation and the effects of coronavirus have resulted in a significant increase in both the number of homeless and the number of people needing the support of the Shelter Trust.
14 primary schools have agreed to collect for Tinathon. The public, businesses, and supporting organisations are asked to bring tins of meat, fish, vegetables, soup or fruit to Wests Centre on 30th September. If collection of tins is required, the e-mail contact is “tinathonjersey@hotmail.co.uk”.

Sandpiper CI in their M&S Food, and Iceland stores and Morrisons at St Aubin, St Ouen, Benests and Five Oaks,The National Trust office at The Elms and St Ouen’s Church.
