The Guernsey Society of the Men of the Trees is on the hunt for volunteers to help out at a special tree maintenance event on November 23rd.
Absolutely no experience is necessary and helpers of all ages are invited to join with the charity as they conduct essential maintenance of the Sigma Wood at St Germain.
Steve Giles from the Men of the Trees is coordinating the tree care programme. He said, "All we need is a good crowd of helpful and enthusiastic volunteers who are willing to give us just an hour or two of their time to get their hands a bit dirty and help out a really great cause. We hope that families will come along so that children of all ages can learn about tree care, and how important trees are on an Island like Guernsey.
"We'd ask that you bring a spade or a shovel and wear boots and gloves. All other instruction will be provided by our expert members."
Any potential volunteers can contact Steve on 232556 for information, or alternatively can turn up on the day between 10am and 12pm and meet at the car park in Rue St Germain, Perry's ref P14 D2. Further updates can be found on the Society's facebook page, or visit trees.gg.
