London, 20 February 2014 - Trend Micro is pleased to announce a new partnership with Jersey-based cloud provider Calligo, enabling it to offer customers of its offshore cloud a powerful sync and share service with full end-to-end encryption.
Calligo offers a range of SaaS, PaaS and IaaS services to customers across the Channel Isles and internationally, with offshore locations from Cayman to Hong Kong, and Bermuda to Dubai.
As an offshore specialist it has to meet customers' strict compliance requirements regarding data residency and security, including a guarantee that all the data held in its cloud services is 100% encrypted.
When it scanned the market for a partner to power its CloudDrive online storage service, Calligo found Trend Micro's SafeSync way out on its own.
"We were looking for a product that can not only do file sharing, as there are plenty of them out there, but that can enable end-to-end encryption even on mobile devices. For us this was key," said Calligo CEO and co-founder Julian Box.
"Combining our existing technologies that encrypts 100% of our client data at rest with Trend Micro's means the data is now fully encrypted not only when it's on our platform but also when it syncs to customers' devices. It's a very powerful message for us and it's why we wanted to partner with Trend Micro on this."
Thanks to SafeSync, CloudDrive can now offer Calligo customers the ability to view, share and collaborate on files remotely, anywhere in the world, on any internet connected device – and even recover deleted data. For more information on CloudDrive please visit http://www.calligo.net/clouddrive.
Even better, SafeSync's unique architecture means managers can control access rights across teams, with all data encrypted at 128-bit AES at rest and 256-bit AES in transit.
"SafeSync plays well into the requirements for keeping data secure offshore due to the fact that is has encryption and data leak protection capabilities built in, combined with the ability for the solution to be deployed in any location, in this case off-shore datacentres run by Calligo, ", said James Walker, senior solutions consultant, Trend Micro UK & Ireland.
