Ogier, a top tier Guernsey law firm, have two newly qualified solicitors.  Alexandria Gaudion and Jaimie Leung Shing have both successfully completed a two year training contract with the firm and have both been admitted as a Solicitor of England and Wales.

Ogier is one of a few Guernsey law firms accredited by The Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA) to offer training contracts.  This requires the trainee to spend time in a number of departments under the supervision of senior lawyers of the firm.  During the two year process training and diaries are kept and regular assessments made to ensure the candidate is complying in practice with the Solicitors Regulatory Authority procedures. Trainees also attend a number of training courses as part of the qualification process.

Alexandria joined Ogier in 2007 as a bursary student which provided her with the opportunity to undertake valuable work experience placements whilst at university and law school before securing a training contract.

Jaimie joined Ogier in February 2011 as a paralegal and was subsequently offered a training contract with Ogier in 2012.

Frances Watson, Partner of Ogier in Guernsey, said "Succession planning and developing legal talent is of paramount importance to us.  I am delighted that Jaimie and Alexandria have qualified through our training scheme.  They have both worked extremely hard throughout their training contracts and I would like to congratulate them both on this important milestone in their career."

Both Jaimie and Alexandria will continue to work in the Business and Trust Law Group of Ogier.
