Aurigny is delighted to announce the launch of extra Saturday flights between Guernsey and London Gatwick this winter season.
The two new flights, GR608 and GR609, now gives customers the choice of six return flights on the popular lifeline route on Saturdays, and takes our weekly services in the winter to a record 42 return flights.
The flights will start in time for the busy winter season, running from 18th November 2017 until 24th March 2018 (excluding 23rd and 30th December).
The new GR608 is scheduled to depart from Guernsey at 4pm and land in Gatwick at 5.05pm. The return flight GR609 is scheduled to depart from Gatwick at 6pm and arrive into Guernsey at 7.20pm.
It is just the latest change Aurigny has announced to enhance the Gatwick service, the airline’s busiest and most popular route to and from the island. The airline is also making good progress with plans to introduce its own ground handling staff at Gatwick in early December, in a move that will help enhance the overall service to customers.
Aurigny Commercial Director Malcolm Coupar said: “Gatwick is the busiest single runway airport in the world and opportunities for us to add new flights are very rare, so when this came up we grabbed it with both hands. We understand London Gatwick is the most important route for the island and the additional Saturday flights will benefit our customers through more choice of seats and flight timings and help us better utilise our resources. Saturdays in the winter have been getting noticeably more popular with sporting groups and travelling supporters, as well as the traditional pre-Christmas weekend breaks.
