Beeton's Fish & Chips will once again open its doors for a special charity day in aid of Les Bourgs Hospice.

On Thursday 29 December, Beeton’s owners Kim and Andy Ashplant will donate every penny taken during their lunchtime and evening openings to Les Bourgs Hospice.

‘It’s now our Christmas tradition to have a charity day and having personal experience of the fantastic care that the hospice gives, we are delighted to be once again supporting them to enable them to support islanders with life limiting illnesses and their families,’ said Mrs Ashplant.

‘We’ve had a charity day for 15 years and raised nearly £40,000 in that time so hopefully lots of people will come along and enjoy some freshly cooked fish and chips. We always close between Christmas and New Year with the exception of the charity day and we always have people coming in because they are fed up of turkey and want a break from cooking.’

The money will be used to cover some of the hospice’s annual running costs, which are in excess of £1m.

‘Andy, Kim and the team at Beeton’s Fish & Chips have been long-standing supporters of Les Bourgs Hospice and we can’t thank them enough for giving up a day of their well-earned festive break to raise money. It’s a hugely popular event which is testament to the quality of Beeton’s food and so I know they will be very busy,’ said chair of the Friends of Les Bourgs Hospice, Liz de Carteret.
