Focus expands to offer business consultancy

Award-winning human resources consultancy, Focus HR Solutions has expanded to also offer business consulting.

The Focus Group brings together Focus HR Solutions and Focus Consulting resulting in the Channel Islands’ only provider of business consultancy and outsourcing under one roof.

Launched in 2007 by Katie Bellingham and Becky Machon, Focus HR Solutions was the first company in Guernsey to offer a full range of outsourced human resources services to local businesses.

It was awarded the Bill Green Award in 2011 for entrepreneurial spirit and shortlisted for the 2010 Awards for Achievement Best Small Business Award. Mrs Bellingham was also presented with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development’s HR Star Award 2013.

"Following on from the success of Focus HR Solutions, we launched Focus Consulting in 2014 as the prime destination for those seeking independent consultants across all disciplines. We wanted to build a community where consultants could work together to offer businesses in the Channel Islands support they might not achieve working alone," said Mrs Bellingham.

Since its inception Focus’ client base has grown significantly and its team now services a wide range of industries of different sizes: from start-ups and SMEs to large corporations.

"As our client base has grown so has our knowledge and experience, to the point that we are often asked by clients to consult on, not just human resources, but wider business matters. As a result forming Focus Consulting, under the umbrella of the Focus Group, was a natural progression for our business," said Mrs Machon.

Through its existing human resources offering, Focus HR Solutions provides payroll, new business packages, HR support, HR health checks and PRISM brain mapping, from its office in St Peter Port.

Now, acting as a consultants’ consortium, Focus Consulting is the destination for businesses that require additional resources, tapping into the expertise of consultants across the board such as public relations, customer experience and accounting.
