The Guernsey and Jersey Customer Service Awards have a new face heading up their activities — Jill Clark— who takes the helm in mid-October.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the customer service field, she is well prepared for her new role. Jill was previously director of customer service at Specsavers, which involved improving all areas of the customer experience in store.

“Being a born and bred customer service fanatic, working for Specsavers and focusing on making our customers truly happy was a job I loved “ says Jill. “The real challenge was helping all colleagues in all stores to deliver brilliant service to the same high level all day and every day.

“It is exciting to be taking on the Customer Service Awards – service is my passion and I believe the awards give brilliant teams and individuals the recognition they deserve – and helps inspire others to improve the experience they give their customers. I am thrilled to be heading up such a robust and popular part of the Islands’ annual events diaries, with such wonderful support from local business sponsors.”

In addition to taking up the new role, Jill is also a customer service consultant and lecturer at the Guernsey Training Agency and College of Further Education. She also speaks at customer service events and seminars.

Julie Todd, who has organised the Customer Service Awards for the last seven years, said “I have thoroughly enjoyed raising the bar for customer service across the islands and meeting so many deserved winners from across all industry sectors. However, the time is right for me to hand the baton across to Jill, whom I know will do a sterling job in evolving and expanding the awards further.

As National Customer Service Week is now upon us, it seemed the perfect time to announce the news, and I know everyone in the islands will continue to support the Awards as they head into a new era.”

Partnering sponsor Sure’s chief customer officer, Charlotte Dunsterville, said:

“Sure has enjoyed a long relationship with the Customer Service Awards and we’re excited to continue our work with them with Jill at the helm. The awards have gone from strength-to-strength in recent years and the future looks bright.

“We’d like to thank Julie for all her hard work, dedication and enthusiasm over the past few years; she’s been a pleasure to work with and we’re all eagerly awaiting the awards evening in Jersey on 5 October.”

The details for the 2018 awards will be announced in January. If any company or local business wishes to participate with sponsorship, please contact either Jill at: contact@thecustomerserviceawards.com
