New head of fiduciary at Walkers

Walkers has appointed a new head of fiduciary who joins as a partner in the firm.

Rupert Morris, who qualified as an English solicitor in 2006 and as an advocate in 2010, has worked at a number of leading law firms in Guernsey and London, including Macfarlanes and Lovells.

In his new role of head of fiduciary, Rupert will work with leading fiduciaries, financial institutions, government departments and UHNW individuals in respect of all aspects of local and cross-border private client advisory and structuring work, trust applications, contentious trust disputes and regulatory investigations.

‘My extensive offshore and onshore cross-border trust experience will enable me to provide a full service approach to instructions or problems from every angle, whether that be creating new beneficial or dynastic structures or dealing with whatever "bumps" in the road that may occur for trustees and beneficiaries down the line,’ said Advocate Morris, who is deputy chair of the Guernsey branch of STEP and committee member of the Guernsey Association of Trustees.

‘Being able to tap into the extensive multi-jurisdictional cross-border network of highly qualified advisors at Walkers will bring considerable benefits for clients.’

Walkers Guernsey managing partner Louise Hall said Advocate Morris was highly regarded which would benefit Walkers.
