THE Finance Sector Non-Executive Director Forum (NED Forum) has announced a new partnership with Credit Suisse (Channel Islands) Limited. From January 2014 the NED Forum’s monthly presentations by industry experts will be held at Credit Suisse’s offices at Helvetia Court, South Esplanade.

The NED Forum was formed in 2011 to represent, promote and support the views of the Channel Islands’ non-executive director community through regular meetings, engagement with other industry bodies and information sharing. Topics of the monthly presentations include anti-money laundering updates, directors and officers litigation issues, corporate governance and economic updates.

Chair of the NED Forum, Connie Helyar-Wilkinson, said that the first event of 2014 will be an informal drop-in morning on Wednesday 15 January between 10am and midday. ‘This will be a great opportunity to network with other NEDs, for members to familiarize themselves with our new hosts and see their excellent facilities,’ said Mrs Helyar-Wilkinson. ‘The NED Forum is continuing to develop/play an important role and we are working with Credit Suisse to offer our members a great series of events this year.’

Roy McGregor, Chief Executive Officer of Credit Suisse in the Channel Islands, said that the company was delighted to be able to support the NED Forum and demonstrate its ongoing commitment to the island’s NEDs, who play a vital role in the success of the island’s finance sector. ‘Our Helvetia Court offices will enable the NED Forum members to attend these presentations in comfortable, purpose-built conference rooms and we look forward to welcoming them during 2014,’ said Mr McGregor.

The new sponsorship arrangement has also allowed the NED Forum to create a new website which will improve the event booking procedure and will offer enhanced features such as a more comprehensive members section. The new website (www.thenedforum.com) will be launched on Wednesday 15 January.

Credit Suisse has previously supported Guernsey’s NEDs through a partnership with the Institute of Directors, supporting its annual debate and the organization of its own conference for each of the last two years (2012 and 2013). Credit Suisse takes over as venue sponsor from ABN Amro (Guernsey) Limited, which has managed the website and hosted the presentations for the past two years , while Optimus Group Limited will continue its sponsorship.
