PwC Channel Islands has welcomed a host of new faces to its offices in Guernsey and Jersey.
As part of this year’s “Class of 2014”, PwC has welcomed a total of 18 new recruits in Guernsey and 19 in Jersey. The new faces, who have embarked on a three-year training programme to gain professional qualifications, reflect a wealth of home-grown talent, including school leavers who excelled at A-Levels and local graduates with strong degrees.
Also amongst the new intake are a number of undergraduates on industry placements and graduates from the UK, Bulgaria, Prague and Pakistan.
Of 18 new recruits, ten are islanders: Alex Masterton, Amelia Ingrouille, Callum McCutcheon, Callum Wrench, Chester Homan, Emma-Louise Sarre, Lauren Ogier, Lucy Morris, Sean Brehaut, and Tristan Brown.
A further eight individuals move to Guernsey: Ahlea Page, Ben Davis, Giles Dean, Gus Baryah, Janine Scholfield, Jordan Steel, Rositsa Marinova and Will Greer.
Brendan McMahon, Senior Partner at PwC Channel Islands, said: “This significant intake of graduates and school-leavers demonstrates not only that PwC continues to see the long-term value in investing in young local talent, but also that there are real opportunities for graduates from a variety of degree disciplines to embark and build on world class careers in diverse business areas in both Guernsey and Jersey.
“The quality of our people is at the heart of our growth strategy and is critical to supporting the growth ambitions of our clients. While the business environment remains challenging, it is important that we continue to invest in talent so we can meet the future demands of clients and gives them the confidence they need for the years ahead. I'm really pleased to welcome such a strong group of individuals to our teams in the Channel Islands.”
Earlier this year, PwC nationally was included in the Sunday Times Best Big Companies to Work For survey and the only “Big Four” firm to be ranked in the top 25. It was also a record-breaking 11th year that PwC had been ranked number one in the Times Top 100 Graduate Employer of the Year list, as well as retaining the Times Graduate Employer of Choice in Accounting for a 15th consecutive year.
