Jersey Airport has teamed up with the Jersey Aero Club to offer a three-week value-added promotional package to encourage private pilots to visit the Island this autumn.

Jersey Airport has teamed up with the Jersey Aero Club to offer a three-week value-added promotional package to encourage private pilots to visit the Island this autumn.

The GA Jersey Fare-Fest promotion, which will run between Saturday 26 October and Sunday 17 November 2013, promises a number of exclusive money-saving deals for private aircraft pilots, including reduced landing fees and unlimited aircraft parking at the Aero Club, discounts on Jersey accommodation, hire car and aviation fuel. The promotion has also been arranged to coincide with the annual Tennerfest food event so visitors can take advantage of the many restaurant deals on offer.

Group Commercial Director for Ports of Jersey, Myra Shacklady, said: “The General Aviation (GA) community is an important market in terms of visitor numbers to Jersey and one that we wish to encourage further. Although the volume is not as high as those coming to the Island on a commercial flight many of these guests will stay in holiday accommodation as well as take advantage of the usual amenities and services available to visitors, including restaurants and attractions as well as shopping opportunities. Therefore, we are pleased to offer our support to colleagues at the Jersey Aero Club by putting together this promotional package in the hope that it may attract additional business at what is historically for them a quiet time of the year”.

Chair of the Jersey Aero Club, Eveline Hawkin said: “The Jersey Aero Club is one of the oldest established flying clubs in the British Isles and over the years we have built up a loyal following among visiting private pilots. We have communicated this promotion via our members as well as a number of flying clubs throughout the British Isles and nearby France. We are hopeful that the weather conditions will remain favourable and therefore suitable flying conditions will encourage many pilots to make that last minute decision to take to the skies and head to Jersey, especially with the added incentive deals we will be offering”.

The GA Jersey Fare-Fest promotion is only available to visiting GA pilots during the advertised period and can be viewed and downloaded online from the following websites – jerseyairport.com and jerseyaeroclub.com

If the promotion proves successful then it is hoped to repeat it in 2014.
