We are now on the lookout for a Compliance Manager to oversee this exciting new venture, in a standalone capacity but as part of the global Risk & Compliance team. This is an opportunity to join at the very beginning of our funds journey and, if desired, grow in tandem with its global expansion.
Key Responsibilities
As a Compliance Manager you will be assessing, and recommending amendments to, internal systems and controls as well as policies, and procedures to facilitate compliance with the regulatory framework; and where appropriate, promptly instigating action to remedy any deficiencies in the compliance arrangements. You will also assume the Key Person roles for Jersey Fund Services Business.
In the role you will be contributing towards the business as a whole in identifying process improvements, improvements in policies and procedures and any other service innovation changes that would improve the client experience. Formulating and reviewing respective business risk assessments in conjunction with the business areas and ensuring that they are monitored, regularly re-assessed, kept up to date and approved by the Board. Providing advice and guidance to the board in respect of any compliance or regulatory aspects of any new business strategies
You will oversee the development, progress and results of our Compliance Monitoring Programme in conjunction with local compliance team members to assess compliance with local and Ogier Group policies and procedures, monitoring that the internal policies and procedures are being consistently and effectively adhered to.
Additional duties include:- Providing senior management and the board of directors with regular written reports in respect of compliance with the requirements of the FS(J)L, Orders (issued under the FS(J)L) and the Code
- To be the main point of contact and liaise with the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) as well as the Group compliance and legal teams in relation to regulatory or compliance related matters
- Providing advice and support for all staff in relation to the significance and importance of the compliance function within the business
- Work together with cross-jurisdictional Funds Services teams, whilst maintaining appropriate independence
- Support Ogier's One Best Way ethos across the team through rigorous process analysis to drive alignment and consistency
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
You will hold a minimum of 6 years industry experience, alongside a relevant professional qualification and a track record of acting or deputising as CO/ MLCO for funds and fund services business.
This job will require you to be self-driven and confident, with the capacity to work independently, in addition to collaborating effectively with stakeholders of all levels.
