Ports of Jersey is looking to recruit an experienced Digital Marketing and Communications Executive to join its small team in providing a high level of digital marketing, communications and public relations to both an internal and external audience across our entire business.  

We’ve got a great brand platform to build upon and this role is an absolute scoop for a confident, credible and engaging marcomms specialist to ‘spread the word’ positively and proactively across the Island and beyond. Collaborating with colleagues and business partners, you’ll be helping to shape as well as actively implement our expanding marcomm programme, with specific focus on our digital marketing opportunities. It’s exciting, varied, challenging, hard work and, at times, as unpredictable as the weather, which can turn your working day upside down.    

A flexible and positive ‘can do’ attitude with excellent people skills is a must as is the ability to self- start and time manage as although you’ll be reporting directly to the Marketing, Communications & Media Relations Manager, you’ll be expected to often work alone unsupervised, sometimes outside of usual working hours to tight deadlines.   

An important element of your responsibilities will be the development and production of marketing and communication tools on behalf of the organisation, including the company websites, intranet, online and hard copy publications as well as digital newsletters and online surveys. Therefore, experience and confidence in using Microsoft and Office 365 products, website CMS and analytics tools with the ability to adapt and learn new systems will be expected of you, as will experience in the use of desktop publishing software applications. 

Ports of Jersey works closely with media partners and news agencies, so you’ll have the confidence and willingness to establish excellent media relations and deal with and respond to enquiries on behalf of the organisation. You’ll also have the ability to source and create written news content to ensure maximum exposure to our audiences.
