ARE YOU EXPERIENCED IN REFUSE COLLECTION AND GENERAL GROUNDS MAINTENANCE? CAN YOU TURN YOUR HAND TO ALMOST ANYTHING?     

Then come and join our small, friendly and long-established team keeping the infrastructure at the Harbours and Airport in great working condition. It’s a unique environment where you’ll need a good set of practical maintenance skills and experience.  We’re confident that you’ll learn some new skills too, so we’ll provide all the specialist support and training you’ll need to tackle the wide range of activities confidently and successfully.

All our different trades work together on a planned and reactive maintenance schedule to high regulatory standards. Every day is different and hugely rewarding with a mix of indoor, outdoor and out-on-the-water jobs that are sometimes physically demanding all year round. Whether you’re on the refuse collection round, weeding, slipway cleaning, sweeping, strimming, mowing, carrying out basic construction maintenance or even on rare occasions snow clearing, you’ll take pride in getting the job done brilliantly whatever it is.  

You’ll have experience of refuse collection or general grounds maintenance activities and most importantly are keen to learn and can turn your hand to almost anything. A HGV licence is essential to operate our plant and equipment. With a positive, can-do attitude, you support team colleagues, use your initiative pragmatically and take ownership dependably and reliably. You also have clear and confident communication skills, especially when using our two-way radio system.
