About the Role

The post is an executive position, reporting directly to the Managing Director, Channel Islands. The post holder will be required to provide strategic input to the wider Channel Islands operations and will act as G4S ambassador across Jersey and Bailiwicks of Guernsey.  
 
This is a key role responsible for the Ports Contractual and Operational Oversight, with additional oversight and responsibility for the management and continued development of the Channel Island Business Units commercial back office functions. The position will provide a high level business management support of each Business Unit lead in the specific areas of Audit & Compliance to include but not exclusive to:

Third party audits, ROCC, MSP, MSR Business Continuity & Disaster recovery, Support of Health & Safety regime, Fleet Management Stock Management, project & bid management and Quality Assurance & NACOSS, CAA)  

Whilst each Island exists as separate legal entities and associated Board Governance, the post-holder will be required to have oversight and control of the  Business Units commercial back office operations in the Channel Islands and provide leadership in this area to taking account of the operational geographies of Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney.
 



Primary Duties

Direct responsibility and oversight of Ports & Aviation business, acting as the client lead attending AVSEC meetings as and when required.

Operational management of the commercial back office functions, including development of effective solutions for systems to ensure contractual and statutory compliance, best practice and profitabil

Recruit, manage and develop appropriate level and quality of employees to ensure delivery of the Channel Islands Business Plan.

Create a culture of partnership in conjunction with the Business Units Heads and Managing Director with customers and other agencies and partners, promoting our services and maximising business opportunities and operational viability in line with the Business Plan and overall G4S strategy.

Develop, agree, monitor and support management of budgets and staffing levels to meet financial performance and reporting in line with Company policy.
 

Assist in the Implementation of the Business Plan and Strategy in conjunction with the Managing Director and create clear accountabilities at every level of the business unit to ensure agreed KPI targets are achieved.

Participate in, and assist with the organisational development and wider policy and procedural development to support and further overall business objectives

Meet or exceed agreed financial targets as agreed with the Managing Director – Channel Island

Assist the Health and Safety director in the promotion of the Health and Safety regime within the Channel Islands Business Development of quality procedures and standards


Certifying technical process and procedures through regular review and audit.


Ensures correct issuing of technical documentation for clients whilst adhering to the G4S Standards and contractual requirements

Ensures operational working practices conform to regulatory requirements through audit to support registration/accreditation for quality and control purposes

In conjunction with MD and Excom agrees compliance policy and processes are adequately issued

Selects and maintained appropriate risk identification and measurement methodologies.
