Description

Assist the AML and Client Service Teams in the delivery of an effective AML Onboarding & CDD Management Framework


Key Responsibilities

  • To effectively & autonomously handle client onboarding relationships through the management of AML processes including due diligence on new and existing investors (CDD reviews), interpreting complex structures and assisting with Client reviews;
  • Be responsible for Executing background checks and searches/client profiling, carrying out ad-hoc World checks and Open Source searches as requested;
  • Be responsible for checking the daily screening alerts and any scrutiny hits referred to Compliance for mitigation and/or referral to CO/MLCO;
  • Manage failures and issues identified to resolution in conjunction with the Client managers and to liaise with business teams with regards to resolving issues identified;
  • Preparation and review of MI and statistical analysis, board materials for client board meetings and where relevant, attending and presenting at board meetings;
  • Ongoing analysis of the effectiveness and adequacy of documented Policies & Procedures, ensuring any changes to the regulatory environment are sufficiently considered and revised, including identification of methods and practices to minimise risk, AML process improvement and scope suggestions (to be implemented via the internal change management process);
  • Provision of support and guidance to R&H, and its clients, on applicable regulatory and AML issues and business related AML queries;
  • Ongoing analysis of the effectiveness and adequacy of AML solutions provided by R&H, assisting with the identification of failures and to identify causes and remedial actions;
  • Assist with the maintenance and updates to AML Compliance & Risk Registers (including Issues, and Politically Exposed Persons/High profile clients) ensuring events are recorded, monitored, and reported to Senior Management where necessary; and
  • Any other reasonable duties that may be assigned


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • A minimum of 5 years AML, CDD and/or Compliance experience, ideally working in a funds environment;
  • Professional Compliance Qualification at Diploma level preferable, but not necessary subject to relevant experience;
  • To have an attitude that inspires respect and to be capable of taking the lead;
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain effective client relationships, to communicate at all levels. A high level of tact, diplomacy and confidentiality is essential due to the nature of the work;
  • Ability to be proactive and to manage own workload and prioritise accordingly;
  • Flexible, with the ability to work to time pressures;
  • Close attention to detail to ensure work is of a consistently high standard;
  • Exceptional, administrative, analytical and organisational skills are essential, with accurate and timely completion of work;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and applications, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and Access;
  • To be able to adapt to changes in business processes (including new and update software) and the changes in the regulatory environment;
  • To look for information and for (external) procedures related to applicable legislation, remaining aware of techniques, market, technology and jobs evolution and to take appropriate internal actions;
  • Ability to understand the structures in place, business activities and functions, including a diverse range of structures and clients and to be able to clarify unusual situations, anticipate inherent risks (e.g. inform compliance manager/director), measure and analyse various implications;
  • To be aware of the limits of his/her decision-making entitlement and not to take risks in this regard, whilst being brave enough to ask questions and raise issues appropriately;
  • To be wary of confidentiality requirement versus information sharing (e.g. on personal situations or at company events); and
  • Ability to work within and become an effective part of the wider Team.
