Trainee Trust Administrator

Department: Private Client Services

Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy, supportive team within our Trust Department. In this role, you will assist with the administration of a portfolio of private client trusts and companies under the supervision of the Trust Manager.


Key Responsibilities

  • Always strive for excellent client service and delivery
  • Making payments
  • Bookkeeping
  • Assistance with the preparation of trust and company accounts
  • Scanning and collation of documents required for new investments and accounts with new service providers
  • Communicating with intermediaries by email, letter and telephone
  • Assistance with the preparation of reporting to clients
  • To ensure that timesheets are completed on a daily basis
  • To achieve chargeability, WIP, recoverability and debtor targets within deadlines set
  • To apply internal risk management procedures
  • To know the main contacts and maintain good relationships with clients and other service providers
  • To know the needs and schedule of the client in order to anticipate some requests
  • Any other reasonable duties that may be assigned


Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Well organised - with accuracy and timely completion of work
  • Good administrative skills are required
  • Strong numeracy skills are essential
  • Ability to adapt to a variety of work on a number of clients
  • Flexible, with the ability to work to time pressures and react calmly to changing demands
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word and Excel
  • To be brave enough to ask questions and raise issues appropriately
  • To look for information and for (external) procedures related to applicable legislation
  • To show interest in the structure in place and try to understand it
  • To show interest in the transactions and operations carried out and try to understand them
  • To be aware of the limits of his/her decision-making entitlement and not to take risks in this regard
  • Team player
