It’s been a week of big updates and new releases in the app world, as the latest instalment in the Kardashian-Jenner mega-franchise arrived, while some key lifestyle apps got an overhaul.

Here’s the ones you really need to know about:

The money and payments app has had a complete design overhaul in order to make it easier to use. The new Home screen now makes it much simpler to get to your balance and activity, and there’s new personalised send and request money pages.

(iOS/Android – Free)

Kendall and Kylie

Made by the same team that put together the Kim Kardashian: Hollywood game, Kendall and Kylie is all about the youngest of the Jenner children, and is suitably full of fashion, selfies and social media. Players create their own character and must move through the world of celebrity, all the while looking to increase their followers. It’s an ideal app if you loved Kim’s game, or if you’re always watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

(iOS/Android – Free)

The ‘new’ social network has been around a few weeks now, but many are still figuring out how to use it. An update this week is hoping to smooth that process somewhat. Public profiles have been introduced for one, so now anyone can follow you and comment on your posts if you allow it. A Who To Follow section has also been added, offering suggestions on the best accounts to keep an eye on.

(iOS – Free)

There have been several tweaks made to this app, but the most interesting one is the ability to capture and share using 360 cameras. If you’ve got a Google Cardboard you can explore a location in virtual reality as if you’re actually there.

The Swords

An extremely cool and artistic game inspired by ancient Japanese sword-makers, The Swords has a gorgeous ink and paper style to it. In gameplay terms it will actually feel familiar to anyone who’s played Fruit Ninja, as you swipe dramatically to hit the bursts of brown that appear on the screen alongside your own black ‘sword’.

(iOS – £2.29)
