Google users may have noticed something different with their recent search results.
Rather than appearing in the familiar blue colour, links are instead being returned in black.
Google appears to be A/B testing a new version of its results page – a technique the company has used several times with small groups of users to see how they react before deciding whether to roll the change out to everyone.
However, if the initial reaction to the colour change is anything to go by, it’s unlikely it will happen. Since users began reporting the change on social media on Sunday, it has so far been met with largely negative views, with people complaining about the way it looks and also the practicality.
