The Google and Star Wars collaboration rumbles on ahead of the launch of The Force Awakens later this month, with the technology firm unveiling special versions of their Google Cardboard virtual reality headset.
Cardboard is the more casual of the VR headsets out there, with the cardboard-made viewing piece able to fold into place in a matter of moments, and able to hold a smartphone which then runs virtual reality-ready apps.
Now, as part of the build-up to the launch of The Force Awakens, Verizon customers in the US entering the telecoms stores are able to get one of the four designs for free.
The new Stormtrooper helmet, villain Kylo Ren, R2-D2 and BB-8 are the designs on offer, and you can’t help but admire how cool they look.
As well as the limited edition Cardboard, there’s also a Star Wars virtual reality experience now available within the official franchise’s iOS and Android app.
Called Jakku Spy, it is something of a behind-the-scenes preview offering snippets of information about the upcoming film.
