Google’s artificial intelligence experiments are quickly becoming notorious for the fun ways in which they present machine learning to the public and their newest creation is no different.
Infinite Drum Machine – following on from the brilliantly fun Quick, Draw! – is a computer-organised database of everyday sounds grouped together by a computer, with no information given to it on what each noise could be.
The result is an interactive 2D “map” of sounds, which users can click and drag the cursor over the map to find new sounds to include in their beat.
The beat itself can then be edited at the bottom of the screen, before you click the play button to hear it back on a loop, which has been put together by the computer.
