Kanye West is about to add yet another title to his already extensive CV, as he shares a first look at his video game, Only One. West previewed the first trailer of his debut game at the E3 tech event.
The game reportedly follows his mother, Donda, arriving at the gates of heaven and becoming an angel. Those who paid witness to West’s big album debut and fashion show in Madison Square Gardens back in February have already seen a short preview of the game, but this is the first time we have seen a full trailer.
According to host Geoff Keighley, West previewed Only One privately to developers, and discussed the rapper’s desire to get into video game design before he made it in the music business.
The game was directed by Isaiah Saxon and Sean Hellfritsch of Encyclopedia Pictura, who have made videos for artists such as Panda Bear, Grizzly Bear and Björk. Production has been going on for over a year.
Further details are yet to be announced, but West is far from the first musician to dabble in the video game world. Earlier this year, Fetty Wap brought out a racing game, while everyone from the Black Eyed Peas to Wu-Tang Clan have also starred in or worked on games in the past.
