Lord Sugar blasts the Apple Watch on Twitter and gets some constructive criticism in response

Lord Sugar has taken a swipe at the Apple Watch, with the billionaire businessman and Apprentice star taking to Twitter to ask why it’s been so successful.

The Amstrad founder is no stranger to technology, having manufactured hundreds of consumer electronics products since the 1970s, and he took to the social network to share his thoughts on the iPhone maker’s first piece of wearable technology.

Twitter users were quick to point out that the Amstrad portfolio wasn’t made up entirely of winners, with technology journalist Tom Warren referencing the infamous E-m@iler home phone, and receiving something of a touchy reply from the former Tottenham chairman.

The E-m@iler looks like this incidentally.

Soon others were joining in to suggest something about people in glass houses not throwing stones.

Though The Apprentice star did get some support from those who don’t buy in to the so-called ‘cult of Apple’.

Of course it all comes down to a matter of taste, but it seems Apple products continue to divide the market. The first published sales figures for the Apple Watch are set to be announced on Tuesday in Apple’s financial results – Lord Sugar may or may not have more to say then.
