“Porch piracy”, the stealing of packages left outside your house, is becoming more and more of an issue as the number of people online shopping continues to increase.
Now a Kickstarter campaign is looking to put an end to the issue with a sensor that alerts users when a package has been delivered, and sounds an alarm as well as push a notification to your phone if someone tries to take it.
As the video suggests. multiple items can be placed onto the sensor, with a notification being sent each time one is added, while Package Guard also said they want to integrate with private security cameras to enable users to take photos of those caught trying to steal items. These could then be shared online and/or with the police.
The Kickstarter campaign for the product has just launched, and is looking to raise $45,000 (£32,000) in order to go on sale.
