So, err, pigeons – the human love interest of the future, apparently. But you don’t have to wait until the future to explore this forbidden love. You can do it right now, all from your PlayStation.

Hatoful Boyfriend is the popular PC dating simulator, now extended onto PS4, which sees you – a human woman – searching for love in an elite school for pigeons. And by God, you better find it.

You’ll be given decisions to make throughout your education at the Pigeonation’s Academy, and the avian beau you find will vary depending on those decisions. This is a visual novel, and if romance with pigeons isn’t your thing then it’s probably not for you.

You’ll meet many amazing pigeons on your journey to find true love, but will you end up with the right one? It’s entirely up to you.

Whatever your stance is on avian-human relations, you’d have to have an awful sense of humour not to find this game funny. The way it’s written should keep you laughing and, of course, it helps to know that this was never meant as anything serious.

We don’t recommend trying this with pigeons in real life, though. Your heart is a delicate vessel.
