It’s a well-known fact that summertime is immeasurably improved by the presence of ice cream.
It seems this is how the guys over at Uber think too, because they’re planning on handing it out for free on Friday.
Yes, it might sound like a very clever way to get back in everyone’s good books after some pretty negative PR for the car-sharing firm recently; with riots in France over the service the most alarming of these.
But one way to turn that around is to be seen doing something positive, and though not world-changing, the promise of free ice cream right to your office or home might just convince a few people to go back to the Uber app they haven’t used in a while.
The whole thing is easy to do too, with Uber laying out the process in a post on its website.
1. Open the Uber app on Friday, July 24, between 11am – 7pm
2. Set your location and slide to the right to request ICE CREAM
3. Request your ice cream parlour and Wall’s Cornettos will be delivered in minutes
This is all for free, and you don’t have to commit to a ride in order to use it. Given this no-strings-attached promotion, Uber has warned that it’s likely to be in high demand and, as a result, availability will be limited.
But get in early enough and you could be tucking into an icy treat on your lunch break.
