About 480 litres – this is the amount of water used by someone washing their car with a hosepipe, according to the Car Wash Association.

Aside from the environmental impacts of this water use, using a hosepipe can be messy, particularly when you’ve given the job to your cash-strapped child – but there’s an easier, waterless option you can use to keep your pride and joy clean.

Smart Polish Pro created a bottled spray which doesn’t require any water to be used. The Waterless Wash and Wax formula simply requires a cloth to apply and both cleans and waxes the vehicle in one process.

The companys say the bottle is good for between six to eight washes and using it is four times faster than a traditional car clean.

“One thing we wanted to keep in mind throughout the process was the environmental impact our products would have, without compromising on quality,” the company says on its site. “We came up with a range of formulas that first and foremost produce truly astonishing results, but also require absolutely no water at all when being applied. Win-win!”

The company might be right with the finish too, Joe Huntley took to Youtube to show the product’s results in action.

The company also sells other waterless products for those of you truly enamoured with your vehicle, including a Tyre Glaze, Interior Detailer and Hydropel – a coating which protects the car’s exterior from contaminants.

Smart Polish Pro exclusively engineers its formulas in British laboratories, but ships worldwide – so no hosepipe’s job is safe.
