You can scan and buy clothes right off the runway with the new House of Holland app

Ever seen someone sashaying down the catwalk in an outfit you’d give your left kidney for, and wanted to buy whatever cool item of clothing they’re exhibiting immediately? Well, designer Henry Holland might have finally answered your dreams, with a little help from your smartphone.

The fashion mogul is inviting the audience of his upcoming London Collections: Men show to get in on the action with a unique app, built in association with Visa and Blippar. Holland’s clever piece of tech allows show-goers to scan garments without so much as a QR code.

It’s as simple as “scanning” a garment (pointing your phone at a t-shirt or whatever you fancy as you would when taking a photo) and the app recognises the item and will source it online.

Right now, the app can only be used for items in Holland’s show, but developers reckon it could “turn the world into a 24/7 shop”, which is pretty bloomin’ cool.
