Golfers raise £21,000 for MacMillan

Sunday 15 August 2021

Advisa Wealth has raised over £21,000 for MacMillan Jersey, with 27 teams taking part in a special golf day.

MacMillan is a charity providing specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer.

It also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care.

Advisa Wealth Director Trevor Griggs said: “We are thrilled that the golf day went so well and we would like to thank all those who took part and gave generously to support this worthwhile cause.”

Mr Griggs and his wife Els are joining 50 other local fundraisers in a Charity Cycle in support of MacMillan Jersey in September of this year.  They hope to cycle 520 kilometers from Bologna in Northern Italy to Rome. The challenge has been delayed due to isolation requirements in Italy, the cyclists hope that the path will be clear to undertake their challenge at the end of September.

Steph Gibaut, MacMillan Jersey’s Head of Fundraising, said: “Trevor, Els and all the team at Advisa Wealth are incredible supporters of MacMillan Jersey and all the funds raised will make a huge difference to the Charity in ensuring that vital services provided by MacMillan are maintained particularly following the challenges posed by the Covid pandemic."
