Two men have been arrested after heroin with a street value of £70,000 was discovered in a Tupperware container in a “wooded public area” in St. Helier.
The finding came following an investigation by Jersey Police and Customs targeting an organised crime group flooding the island with Class A drugs named ‘Operation Card’, culminating in the arrests of a 37 and 40-year-old on Monday night.
Police found what they described as “a commercial quantity” of the dangerous drug concealed in a plastic container in a green part of town.
The two men were found nearby and later arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with the intent to supply. They have since been released on bail.
The investigation remains ongoing.
