An eight-year-old artist is holding an exhibition showcasing her illustrations of the animal kingdom to raise money to look after it.

An eight year-old art extraordinaire, who pledged to draw 100 animals over 100 days, has opened a new exhibition for Durrell at the Arts Centre's Berni Gallery.
Nelly Craven has gone down as perhaps the youngest person to ever open an exhibition at the Arts Centre, following her pledge to draw 100 animal pictures over 100 days to support Durrell’s ‘Love Your Zoo’ appeal.

The exhibit, the ‘Nelly Draws for Durrell', opened on Monday and showcases her range of animal drawings, as well as selling prints and postcards of them for Durrell.
Her initial JustGiving fundraiser has now reached over £3,000 for the charity, which launched their appeal after their income was devastated by the effects of covid.
Beth Gallichan, Fundraising Manager at Durrell, said, “Nelly has been a leading light in supporting our Love Your Zoo campaign. Her tenacity, creativity and dedication have proved that whatever your age, you can make a difference. This exhibition is so heart- warming and inspirational."

She continued: “It provides a unique opportunity to see all the incredible animal drawings together, and I hope islanders will visit and share in the festive spirit during these unusual times. We are very grateful to the team at Jersey Arts Centre for their commitment to Nelly’s show.”
Created in partnership with the Arts Centre's production of 'My Family and Other Animals,' the 'Nelly Draws for Durrell Art Exhibition’ will run until Saturday 9 January.
Though the Skipton Forget Me Knots Installation closed in early December, it has gone out with a grand finale, as it was briefly transformed into a performance space for local musicians before being taken down.

For those looking for some darkness in their tunes, gypsy pirate punk folk rockers Parish 13 have weaved a terrifying tale of phantom reflections in the new video for their song, ‘Trapped,’ featuring footage from Italian short horror film, ‘Mirror'.
It comes from their 2020 album, ‘A Rum Do’, which features an eclectic mix of singing, mandolin, ukelele bass, violin, mandocello and cajon.

For those suffering in the absence of bars and restaurants at the moment, Luddite Press and Stinky Bay are collaborating to bring the stinky to people’s homes, offering limited edition six packs of Stinky Bay’s brew.
The beer, limited to 100 packs, will feature hand printed letterpress labels, individually printed and numbered.

The latest offering from Street Artist Midnight (AKA James Carter) is a festive special featuring tips on how to make your own corrugated cardboard Christmas trees.
Kids can watch Midnight now via Arthouse Jersey's video platform, Arthouse Jersey Presents, as he guides them through the creation, adding their own custom flourishes and ideas as they go.
