In 1980, Slim recorded a highly regarded double album with him called 'Dialog In Boogie' in 1980, and took him on tour. Philippe has gone on to tour the world, releasing many of his own records.

The Blue Note performance will be fronted by Jersey’s own blues music award-winning Giles Robson on harmonica and vocals. He has previously played on a sell-out tribute to Etta James at London's legendary 100 Club on Oxford Street with Paul Robinson on drums.

"We will of course be playing a combination of Nina Simone tracks, Memphis Slim tracks and some of own material," explained Giles.

"I am delighted to work with these two legendary musicians and we are really enjoying an incredible run of successful sold out shows at The Blue Note, kindly sponsored by Icecap LTD. They show that there is an audience for outstanding internationally celebrated musicians on a regular basis in the island. The other wonderful aspect of this series is the incredible reaction all the artists have to the beauty and people of Jersey. I put them up in the charming Dolphin Hotel so they stay in an in credible location and I always make sure I give them a tour of the coast so they can see the wonderful landscape.”

Teach your pup Jèrriais

Crufts fever appears to have taken over Jersey Heritage this week, with the organisation sharing a number of posts promoting our island's historic links with canines.

Did you know there is a 'Road of the Dog' in Grouville?

The team also picked out some local works of art highlighting man's best friend...

But our favourite was a set of instructions to teach your dog Jèrriais...Why not give it a go?
