Bergerac joins the Force again

Sunday 15 May 2016

Jersey's most famous detective is back with the Island's Force.

Jim Bergerac has joined a special line up that will be moving in to the new Police HQ in Green Street next year.

The TV character is one of the subjects of a new painting depicting policing in Jersey from 1850 to the present day. It's been created by UK artist Mick Ewins who has had work commissioned by every force in England and Wales. His work-of-art also features some of the Island's iconic buildings and monuments.

A Police spokesman said: “We are delighted we were able to persuade Mick to do this for us as he had convinced himself he was retiring, we're really pleased with the painting and it is a lovely depiction of our heritage over the years. It will hang proudly in the new PHQ next year”.

Bergerac Star John Nettles told police he was really impressed with the new commission.

The print is available to buy from the police station for £25 or you can email Rosie Evans here to order one.
