Jersey ice cream is hitting more supermarkets shelves in China.

Jersey Dairy have secured a new deal with Ole Supermarkets in Shanghai.

The deal has been done at a major trade show where the Dairy is exhibiting as part of a Great Britain stand.

Jersey Dairy’s Managing Director Eamon Fenlon said: “Attending the Shanghai show is a major showcase for our Jersey products as we look to find new export markets and also an ideal platform to launch a new one.

“The latest deal with Ole Supermarkets, which has a chain of upmarket outlets in Shanghai, Beijing and other leading cities is a welcome move that adds to the availability of Jersey ice cream across China and gives further momentum to our export drive.”

The Dairy is also launching a new probiotic ice cream for children at the show in partnership with a new Jersey start-up business who developed the concept. Minioti Limited has been set up by Jersey directors and housewives Anna Boletti, Natasha Dowse and private investor, John Davey.

Jersey Dairy is also promoting Jersey oysters and Jersey sea salt at the three-day show in Shanghai's new international expo centre.

More than 40,000 visitors are expected to attend FHC China 2015 including Liz Truss, the UK's Secretary of State for the Environment, Food & Affairs who has been at the prestigious, international show learning more about the Jersey products on show.
